I love playing games
Whether it’s sports, board games or even video games; the way they engage you in a direct and meaningful way makes them invaluable for building social connections, teaching, self-improvement and just plain fun. Games do that by presenting a set of rules that the players have to follow in order to reach a (common) goal. Because of your past failures, each time you play the game, you become better at it and therefore get to the goal more efficiently.
I also love creating art
You as the creator have the power to bring what no one else can see into the real world and make other people perceive a glimpse of your reality. As much as art seems mystical and ethereal there is a good portion of it that can be learned.
Why not combine both games and art?
Learning art can be hard, especially when you are on your own. The overwhelming amount of art resources out there can theoretically teach you. With a lack of guidance though, it is going to be tough. Although my art form has it’s own style to it, what I want to teach is independent of style, sub-genre or direction. Whether you want to create mangas, video game art, children book illustrations, or horror paintings, there are underlying fundamentals that when fused with your personal approach can unlock your true potential.
That’s why I want to create [ART]PG (Art + RPG)
A free course and a fun art community that sets its focus on bite-sized and hands-on lessons. It will involve art theory but puts a special emphasis on practicality with exercises, challenges, quizzes and community feedback. You can think of it as the freecodecamp of art. The curriculum will firstly take you through a core training, which will show you all the fundamentals and upon completion allows you to choose a specific course of your interest (Comic art, game art and so on).

Why Me? And a Peek at What Else I’m Building (A Side Note)
My passion for creating art and games is deeply intertwined, and it directly informs everything I’ll share here. My journey through digital art has given me hands-on experience in tackling common learning hurdles.
As a side note, I’m also actively developing a game called ARTPG – a unique blend of an RPG and a digital drawing application that aims to make learning art incredibly fun and personalized. While the game itself is in its very early stages, the process of building its core art tools, character designs, and gameplay mechanics is constantly teaching me new things. This platform is where I’ll be sharing all those insights, discoveries, and practical lessons learned directly from the trenches of game development, providing you with real-world knowledge that applies to your own art.
